Mid-Missouri transportation providers and human service agencies have come together to form the Mid-Missouri Transportation Coordination Council (MMTCC). This newly founded council will help:
“Sustain a regional partnership for better community access through transportation coordination and mobility management”
This council has come about through a partnering effort between Mid-MO RPC and the University Of Missouri Hospital Trauma Center. The first year of this planning effort is funded through a grant awarded to Mid-MO RPC by the Missouri Developmental Disabilities Council (MODDC). Mid-MO RPC staff is working with several regional stakeholders to get the coordinating council up and running so these groups can start identifying needs, goals, and priorities in the region. Meetings during the summer of 2013 have started the discussion of challenges such as funding, coordination, and access to service. Future meetings will be used to identify goals and strategies and to set up the composition of the council.
