The Mid-Missouri Region is strategically located in the center of Missouri, the American Heartland in place and spirit. It is an epicenter of natural, cultural, and technological resources – a diverse, rich, yet balanced place, poised for transformation in the 21st century.

The people of Mid-Missouri combine traditional Midwestern values , including a strong work ethic, with high education and skill attainment.  People can live on isolated farms or downtown lofts – and still commute to most work sites.  A rich web of relationships connects the rural areas, where  more than half of the people live, and the major urban areas of Columbia and Jefferson City.
