EDA Funded Projects 2005-2016

The Mid-Missouri Regional Planning Commission area is recognized by the U.S. Economic Development Administration (EDA) as an Economic Development District (EDD).  This recognition allows the Mid-MO RPC to access EDA funds to carry out its mission.

Planning partnership grants provide funds for the RPC staff to consult and develop projects with the Mid-MO RPC members.  In addition, EDD designation means that public and private organizations in the region are eligible for Public Works and Economic Development funds from the Federal Government and can access the EDA Revolving Loan Fund.

CDBG Funded Projects 2001-2016

The Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) Program is a key tool used to help meet the needs of local communities.  Grants are offered to small communities to improve local facilities, address critical health and safety concerns, and develop a greater capacity for growth.   Projects range from housing and street repairs to industrial loans and job training.

To be eligible for funding, a project must meet an income requirement of at least 51% LMI (low to moderate income) in the project area or provide a designated level of job growth.

Mid-Missouri Regional Planning Commission projects funded by the Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) program in the years 2001-2010 totaled almost $8 million.
