September 1, 2015 – Mid-MO RPC along with two other RPCs and the Missouri Developmental Disabilities Council (MODDC) are the proud recipients of the 2015 NADO Innovation Award. Mid-MO RPC and the three other agencies received the award for their success in generating regional coordination for better access to and efficiency of public transit. All of the RPCs have hired or are in the process of hiring a Mobility Coordinator for their region and share the desire to create a statewide mobility management program.Over the past two years, with financial support from MODDC, Mid-MO RPC staff has been working alongside several regional transportation stakeholders as part of a planning grant to increase regional coordination. Support from Central Missouri Community Action (CMCA), United Way’s 211, and MODDC were and are critical to the success of this project. These partners, along with many others, have provided the drive to improve transportation coordination in the region.
The National Association of Development Organizations (NADO) Annual Innovation Award program honors members who have made significant impacts on their regions through innovative approaches to problem solving and program delivery. Mid-MO RPC has received this award along with 115 other impressive projects from 32 states!
